Whose head is it?

This past Sunday, while we were painting our new fellowship area, one of the kids asked me, "Is it possible to sin in your head?"  Auto-response mode kicked in and the answer was yes, then I went on to explain to him about impure thoughts, and lies to yourself and to others. Of course we also talked about temptation.

Now that I have the chance to sit down and think about it, the one thing auto-response left out was, yes we can sin in our heads, but I never mentioned it is also possible, if not easier to praise God in your head as well.

How much time do we spend each day praising Him in our heads? It is something so simple and really does not interfere with our day at all. As for me, I know many times throughout the day I am singing the last song I heard on the radio in my head. Be it a Christian Rock song, or the last thing I heard on Kids Place Live, which is a radio station my children love. Those songs are very hard to shake some times, I dare you to listen to "I think I'm a Bunny" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcSwDjRu1ug) or "Man or Muppet" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MFn8L9tIrg&feature=related) and not have that running through your head.

It does not matter how busy you are, we will always have the time to praise Him. Be it reciting a psalm, or singing a song, or even just giving Him thanks for this beautiful day(Or maybe start a blog :p). Even a thought can give Him the same amount praise as a powerful testimony in front of your church.  But until you are comfortable leaning on the Spirit to preach to others, feel free to proclaim His greatness anyway you can. Saint Anthony (The patron saint of lost things, for those of you who may not know) became so frustrated with people not listening to his testimony that God sends him to the seashore to preach to the fish.(http://www.fisheaters.com/animals9.html)

The greatest weapon the enemy has against us is temptation, but remember whose thoughts those temptations attack. We were created in His image and we have been filled with His spirit, and though the heads may be ours, our thoughts and hearts belong to him.

Thank you and God Bless.
